Hello, I decided to build a power corrector using your UCC28056 microcircuit,,. aimed at 5 kW,,, I read the datasheet, downloaded the calculator, everything seems clearI wanted to clarify... please tell me at what frequency to create an inductor? What is the frequency of the generator inside the chip? Thank you for your attention,

    Thank you for your interest in the UCC28056 PFC controller. 

    This device runs in Transition Mode (TM) and is not suitable to control a 5kW PFC converter.  The ideal power range for this device is 75W to 200W.  Application above this range requires augmenting the gate-drive and other adjustments.  The peak currents of TM-PFC are excessive at 5kW.

    This device does not generate a switching frequency; in TM-PFC, the frequency is determined by the selection of boost inductance.  
    The design information in the datasheet helps to select the inductance, and in the Excel-based Calculator tool available.  

    However, as mentioned above, UCC28056 is not suitable for 5kW.  At this power, the best fit is UCC28070.

  • Thanks for the answer. I agree with you that at high powers it will be necessary to recalculate the power part as well as the current feedback loop.The range of input and output voltages remains the same.  The network input filter is recalculated.. I apologize for my persistence, but what else prevents this controller from pumping more power? On your controller 28019, the power Diode, inductor, mains filter, power switches and current loop were recalculated, after which it produced 2 kW without problems. Why can’t 28056 be pumped to higher power in the same way??? Thanks for the answer.
