MSP430FR6047: Firmware for water meter

Dear Engineers,

I want to develop a firmware for water meter solution for MSP430FR6047. I know there are sample codes for TI available, Would you please let me know what source code in the most complete one, then I can spend my time on that? (including USS measurement, IR Port, HMI, .......)

When I installed CCS, I already saw source code in the resource section for USS LIB:

I also could download a source code form here:

Then I imported the file to CSS?

So, now I do not know which one should I consider as my base line?

Furthermore, would you please let me know if there any document that I can use to understand the firmware easier and faster?

Hi Behnam,

The template example codes perform the USS measurements, and output the results via UART. The USS_Water_Demo project outputs the measurements and data to the USS GUI. Both of them include the USS measurement algorithm, but only the USS_XXX_Demo examples include the GUI interface. The template example versions are closer to what we would expect customers to use in production.

As for guides to understand the firmware easier, we have quite a few. The USS Design Center User's Guide is a great place to read details about the library, GUI, and their use.

The USS Academy provides a hands on introduction to using the devices.

The technical documentation section of the product page has many getting started documents, as well as more detailed ones. Application Software (SW) for MSP430FR6047-Based Ultrasonic Water Flow Meter is included there and is a helpful document for looking through the code examples.
