It is common practice to just read the sectiosn of immediate interest. However, on MSP, there are many cross-connections between different sections, and not always (rather seldom) each information is provided everywhere.Jake WOO said:Maybe I need to read more...
To understand tiemrs, you'll need to know the clock system, for ADC, you might need the tiemes (and therefore the clock system), all three require knowledge of the CPU interrupt mechanisms etc. Same for the datasheet. Some info is here, some is there. And often enough at a place where you don't expect it (but wher eit makes sense if you thing about it afterwards).
Remember, the ones writing the datasheet are people who know the relations (else they couldn't write it). And it's difficult to pretend you do not know them when designing the datasheet. :)
Indeed, it's best to heave at least read the whole stuff once. So you may remember seeing this information there, even if you didn't fully understand it at first glance. You may come back later when needed.
