When plugging in MSP-FET430UIF (V 1.4a, ser # 10086554909R), CCS6 told me it needs a firmware update. I agreed and the firmware updated started. However, the progress bar froze at about 95% of the update for about 15 min, then the update window vanished. Now, when I plug in the FET, the green power LED stays OFF, CCS does not recognize the FET, windows device manager (Win7, 64-bit) shows the device as a COM (COM14) but not as an MSP-FET430. I downloaded the drivers and tried to manually update the driver, but I get "the latest driver is already installed". When I completely delete the device in the device manager and re-install, I get the warning: "this driver is not intended for this platform". I tried to run the Elpotronic Flash tool, but it told me "cannot communicate with the device".
It seems since the crash of the firmware update, the on-board FLASH on the FET is corrupted. Is there a way to manually re-program the on-board flash?
There is a gazillion threads about this problem here in the forum. With explanations and solutions. Did you try the search function?
Hi,
please try searching first. You would find this one easily which helped me a time ago:
