MSP430F5338 PROGRAMMING AND DEBUGGING WITH LAUNCH PAD

Hello

I am using MSP430F5338 on my custom board. I tried it to program with MSP430 LAUNCH LAD( MSP430-EXP430G2) on 2-Wire spi bi wire JTAG mode with CCS5.0.

But I found that my program is not working as expected. it is not even stopping on break points and I am not able to debug my code. Earlier I was using MSP-FET430UIF and it was working fine.

Can you pls suggest what can be possible reason for that?

Can i do the programming and debugging with launch pad.

Hi,

the MSP-EXP430G2 doesn't support the MSP430430F5538 as target device:

I would recommend to use the MSP-FET instead.

Hi Leo,

Is it possbile to program MSP430G2755IDA38R by using MSP-EXP430FR5739 ?

when I check the picture, there is a tick for FR57XX,F5638,F6638 in terms of MSP-EXP430FR5739.

so does it mean that it supports FRXX,F5638,FF6638 and also other msp430s such as MSP430G2x55 ?

LaunchPads that have at least an ez-FET Lite on it can be used to program every MSP430 device. The MSP-EXP430FR5739 has an ez-FET, so you can use it for programming.

Edit: Sorry, the MSP-EXP430FR5739 has no ez-FET (mistake on the product website)! Chose another LaunchPad that has one.
