Precision after performing a TLV calibration about ADC of MSP430FR6820.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR6820

Hello,

My customer is asked for the precision after performing a TLV calibration about ADC of MSP430FR6820.

I understand that it is difficult to ask for it.

That is because it is founded on many factors, such as Offset Error, Gain Error, and Integral Non-Linearity.

as following URL said:

Since the customer is asking, are you asked for approximate calculation?

Regards,
Hidetaka.

  • Hello Hidetaka,

For the reasons you mentioned above TI does not provide any specs on factory calibration data vs. improved ADC accuracy. However in SLAA624 we do mention for the ADC12_B at room temperature that gain and offset error will be improved to +/- 0.5 LSB, limited to running with an external reference. Read Section 4 of the Application Report to find out more, along with example code provided in Section 5: www.ti.com/.../slaa624.pdf

    Regards,
    Ryan
