msp430f5438 cannot identify device

Hi all,

I am trying to erase msp430f5438 through jtag using msp-fet430uif.

When I did it using the mspflasher, I have the following failure message.

When I probe the TDO pin using oscilloscope, I realized that the msp430f5438 returns some bitstream signals as the following figure.

Why doesn't the msp-fet430uif identify the device?

Hi,

How is the MSP-FET430UIF connected to the F5438 device? Can you verify that it follows the schematics shown in the Signal Connections for In-System Programming and Debugging section (section 2.1) of the MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide? Make sure you follow the correct schematic for your MSP430 device and which programming interface you want to use (JTAG or SBW).
