Hi,

I going to develop the metering project based on MSP430F6777 micro controller. For that i am searching some low cost development kit. But i didn't get any development  based on that micro controller instead of that i find one similar development kit based on MSP430F5529. Any one suggest me whether this development kit is similar for MSP430F6777 and also please give some suggestion for development kit.

    Hi Arunraj,

    The best suggestions I can offer are the EVM430-F6779 or MSP-TS430PEU128, the choice depends on how much existing metering development you wish to already have on your EVM.

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for your suggestion, but EVM430-F6779 is such a high cost development kit. so i need some low cost development kit like MSP430F5229. some basic interfaces is enough for my project. I saw this development board which is recommend by TI ( www.ti.com/.../MSP-EXP430F5529LP ). Can I able use this development board for developing some basic peripherals like GPIO,UART, etc..,

    Hello Arunraj,

    Several peripherals are similar enough such that you should be able to prototype with the MSP430F5529 but at some point you will need to port and validate your solution on the MSP430F6779 or a similar device derivative, there is no low-cost LaunchPad option available for a MSP430F6xx variant.

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for your clarification. Now, i understand the limitations of MSP430F5529 launch Pad. I am going to start some basic peripherals like GPIO, UART, etc.., with help of MSP430F5529 launch pad. After that i buy the MSP430F6779 devolpment kit and start my project.
