Hi,
I just received my MSP430 GANG programmer.
I quickly wired it up to my target (MSP430F5438A), using the following connections:
Programmers 14pin header Target
1 TDO/TDI1 ----> PJ.0/TDO
3 TDI/VPP ----> PJ.1/TDI/TCLK
5 TMS ----> PJ.2/TMS
7 TCK ----> PJ.3/TCK
8 TEST/VPP ----> TEST/SBWTCK
2 VCC_MSP ----> VCC
9 GND ----> GND
Isn't this correct?
I use the MSP430 FLASH Gang Programmer GUI v1.51
Firmvare v1.51
Hardware v1.30
My problem is that whatever I do, I can't connect to target.
When I try to Erase, Program, Verify, programmer responds "ERROR: No target device connected"
And when I try to "Read out Target", programmer just says "ERROR: Target not accessible"
I have tried with and without external power source, and with an without applying the checkmark "Use SpyBiWire"
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
/Michael
It seems like you have the latest version of GANG430 software and hardware.
The one thing I see that you don't have connected is the RST pin. Please make sure that your connections match Fig 5-3 of the GANG430 user's guide on pg 60:

Hi Harman,
The reset pin did the trick!!
When I wired it up at first I just followed the Recommendations for Target Connections in section 5.3
Here the reset pin is not mentioned at all.
Thanks for your help!
