MSP-CAPT-FR2633: replacement of the overlay for the boards

Part Number: MSP-CAPT-FR2633

Hi Experts,

A customer would like to peel off the overlay for the surface of the board and replace their own overlay instead.
Is there any way to peel off the overlay safely?

Thank you very much for your kind check.

Best regards,
Hitoshi

  • Hi Hitoshi,

The MSP-CAPT-FR2633 Development Kit boards use a 468MP adhesive between the PCB and the 2 mm polycarbonate overlay, this setup is by no means permanent but will be quite difficult to change. There are no removal recommendation other than to get a wedge in between the layers and slowly remove the overlay. You will then have to clean off all remaining adhesive from the PCB before applying the new adhesive and overlay. If testing other thicknesses then additional overlay can be adhered on top of the current overlay, this may be a more simple short-term solution.

    Ryan
