MSP430F5132: MSP430F5132 (PMP7647)

Can you please clarify the following??

 

1. PMP 7647 has charger, controller and LED driver part if this is the case, wil it requires Battery ic like BQ24650,  why should we use bq24650??? Pls  clarify.

 

2. What is the method to program the controller?? I mean  MSP430F5132.  Like JTAG, through USB.. etc... also please clarify the interface cable required between the computer and the PMP 7647 target.

    For your second question, you can program the MSP430F5132 using the J5 header on the EVM as shown in the schematic snippet below. The RST and TST pins are 2-wire Spi-by-Wire (SBW) JTAG pins. You'll need one of our programming tools such as the MSP-FET or a LaunchPad (like the MSP-EXP430F5529LP) with the on-board eZ-FET programmer.

    A separate battery charger may not be needed, as a battery charge algorithm is already present in the firmware. This can even be modified further to suit any specific requirements in your application.
