MSP432P401R: Upcoming Rev D MSP432 micros & MSP432Ware

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Hello,

This is a question regarding MSP432Ware and its compatibility with the upcoming Rev D MSP432 micros. We received a notice from silicon experts:

http://download.siliconexpert.com/pdfs/2018/1/28/5/46/58/258/txn_/manual/slaz610n.pdf

Our main concern is that the new Rev D micros will not be compatible with MSP432Ware.. rather it will be compatible with the newer MSP432SDK.

This would be a risk on our end since we are just now beginning production and have already completed a host of reliability tests with RevC micros running MSP432Ware.

Is there a forecast for when the new RevD MSP432s will be released and can you comment on whether or not our current firmware using MSP432Ware will be compatible with RevD?

I found information in 4.3 SDK FAQ stating that: "For existing MSP432Ware users, the SDK update is currently not mandatory. When will it become mandatory?

Regards,

Robert
