MSP430F1101: How to connect an Analog CTC Accelerometer to MSP CPU?

Part Number: MSP430F1101

Hi TI,

I am not able to find a reference on how to connect an industrial-type accelerometer into the MSP MCU.

Please help to guide me.

Here is the accelerometer datasheet:

Thanks,

  • Hi Paul,

From the looks of the datasheet, the accelerator produces and analog signal that you will need to connect to an ADC on the MSP430. Please note that the MSP430F1101 is not recommended for new designs (the MSP430F1101A should be used instead). Neither of these devices contain a true ADC, so you would need to use the comparator for slope A/D conversion. If you are not already committed to using this part, I suggest using a different MSP430 that contains a full ADC (probably a SAR for your purposes).

    Regards,
    Nathan
