CCS/MSP-EXP430G2ET: PMBus examples, TPS544c20EVM-634 & MSP-EXP430G2ET

Hi all, got those two boards to evaluate some use of the msp430 as an PMBus controller.

Failing completely, to get it working. The examples are made for the older version of the lunchpad MSP-EXP430G2, but it is the same chip.

However, I don't see any communication at all on the I2C ...

Something obvious I have to check?

Using the "newest" Code Composer Studio 8.2.0

switch to TI v16.9.9.LTS compiler and try to debug.

Hi,

what do you mean exactly by saying "failing completely".

Are you able to program the micro controller?

Do you see signals on SDA/SCL?

Does it work without the TPS544C20EVM ?

Can you please check if you have pull-up resistors connected to I2C SDA/SCL. They are not populated on the launchpad.

As embarrassing as it is, it was exactly the problem. I didn't "see" it, because the launchpad has "SCL/SDA" written on the P2.1 and P2.2 pins, but the demos use the p1.6 and p1.7 pins. After I saw that, and fixing my soldering skills, it works as expected.
