Hi,
Recently i Purchased MSP430F5529LP launch pad.
I am not able to detect it in my PC. Can u please suggest me the method to detect .
I also tried to long press the BSL button while connecting it to my PC as mentioned in the user guide, but failed to detect.
After looking into few of the forums I came to know that the drivers need to be installed and I downloaded the drivers from TI website.I am unable to fix this issue. Can you please help me proceed with it.
Regards,
Divya
Sure..
I will download this version in my PC. if i encounter any problem installing and detecting the ports, i will get back to you.
i also wanted to know one more thing that , i have a older version of CCS (6.2.0) in my laptop. will it work with this lunchPad?
Divya,
Are you getting an error in device manager on the COM ports? It should look something like below if there are no errors.
I think CCS 6.2 should work, but I would also recommend installing the latest CCS for the latest code examples and bug fixes. It can be found below. You could also consider using CCS cloud and see if you are able to connect with that as it should also install the drivers.
CCS Download: http://www.ti.com/tool/CCStudio
CCS Cloud: https://dev.ti.com/
When we connect the power supply to the board, Hope there will be some LED which will glow to indicate that the device is turned on/OFF. which is not happening ..
it is a new board and we did not use it one time also to program some thing.
Please help me to solve this issue
Divya,
If you plug it in to USB, do you see any LED? LED102(near the usb connector) should illuminate to show the eZ-FET is functioning. If not, it sounds like the board could have a non functional eZ-FET which is required to program the board or your USB cable is bad. Have you tried different USB cables? If this is the case and you've tried different cables with your board, you should contact the support center to see about getting a replacement board.
Also, it would still be useful if you could confirm whether the device shows up in device manager. If you are getting an error or nothing shows up at all, this would help confirm that the issue is with the eZ-FET circuit on the board.
