MSP-EXP432E401Y: USB bulk driver install

Part Number: MSP-EXP432E401Y

Dear support,

I have spend more then 4 hours getting the simple bulk example to run.

The code is running but the windows driver is a pain in the #ss.

please provide me with a link how to get it up and running.

I have tried the windows 10 authentication turned on / off and different drivers etc.

install all the packages, but none of them work on the lastest version of windows 10.

please provide a solution how to solve this.

  • Hello Jeffrey,

I will test this and get back.

    Thanks,

    Sai

  • Dear Sai,

What is the current status? I need to continue with this project.

    Best regards,

    Jeffrey

  • Hello Jeffrey,

The issue seems to be that the windows driver in the SDK are not signed. Windows 7 prompts the user if it's OK to install the driver but Windows 10 is just not accepting the driver.

I have filed a bug request to provide a driver that is signed.

In the mean time can you try the attached drivers and see if this is working for you. These are signed drivers and we tested these on one of my colleagues laptop that has Windows 10 and it works on that specific laptop.

    To install these new drivers,

    • Program the MSP432E4 LaunchPad with the example ./examples/nortos/MSP_EXP432E401Y/usblib/usbdevbulk/
    • Attach the USB cable to the PC.
    • Open Device Manager. The "Generic Bulk Device" driver should be installed.
    • Delete this driver by right clicking and selecting "Uninstall" option.
      • Ensure that the driver is deleted - sometime a pop-up is displayed prompting to delete the driver. Select it.
    • Unplug the MSP432E4 LaunchPad from the PC and Plug it back in
    • Open Device Manager and install the below provided drivers.

    Thanks,

    Sai
