MSP430F5249: Problem with GPIO

Part Number: MSP430F5249
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5247

Hi,

I have a problem with the MSP430F5249IRGCT microcontroller. I have tried changing it to MSP430F5247 and the problem stills.

I have the problem with the P1.7 GPIO (Pin 25).

It has a pull-up of 10K to 3.3V, and a serial 1K resistor to a switch, that it can be opened, or closed to ground. The GPIO has a 100nF capacitor and a 5V varistor to ground.

The rest of the GPIOs work fine in the micro.

The problem is that if I touch the micro with the finger, the GPIO P1.7 goes to 0V although the switch is opened. If I touch it with an isolated material, there is no problem, so I think that there are not mechanical or soldering problems.

Adding a FW filter, I get to avoid the instantaneous problem, but if I touch the microswitch the finger for around 5 seconds, the problem appear again.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Best regards.

Aitor.
