MSP430F5529: SMCLK and MCLK

Hi experts,

1)I'm sorry for my silly question but I wanted to know one thing what is the default drequency of MCLK which is used by the boards?

2)If I modify SMCLK and ACLK does it will effect MCLK?

Please clear these two questions which i have asked to you......... An throw me some light.

Hi Manish,

1. Default frequency is about 1MHz (see this posting).

2. Modifying the SMCLK or ACLK does not impact the MCLK. You can see how the clocks are related from the illustration on page 161 in the MSP430Fx5xx_6xx family users guide. Also, refer to section 6.9.3 in the MSP430F5529 datasheet.

can I use SMCLK and ACLK both for my programs?

Just because I have an EPD display it is using ACLK and I have a Spirit RF receiver that is using SMCLK as 1Mhz. Will it cause any issue?
