MSP432P401R: update the firmware of XDS110ET on MSP432P401R LaunchPad

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Dear team,

My customer wants to update the firmware of XDS110ET on MSP432P401R LaunchPad (black board). Because it showed nothing when he plugged the launchpad into PC.

He used J-LINK and J-FLASH-V6.52a to update the firmware of XDS110ET on MSP432P401R LaunchPad.

He  burned boot_loader.bin and firmware.bin. But still no response when plugged into the PC. He measured the three pins of TM4C129ENCPDT with   multimeter  and USB were also connected.

Is there any other way to find out where the problem is? Or is the firmware he burned with J-LINK right?

  • Susan,

Unfortunately, We no longer support the black MSP432 board (and most of the software doesn't either.)  The black launchpads had pre-production experimental silicon on them (XMS432).   Please have the customer replace it with a red MSP-EXP432P401R which has production silicon on it.

I know there were silicon changes need for production release that ended up making these early boards obsolete, although I can no longer recall what those changes were.

Let me know if they can upgrade to the red launchpad.

    Thanks,

    JD
