I am developing under 64-bit Debian Linux 10. I have used this Uniflash successfully with MSP432 and TM4C129 Launchpads. But Uniflash fails to recognize the MSP-EXP430G2ET Launchpad. With the Launchpad plugged into the USB port, on startup Uniflash fails to detect it, reporting "No debug probes/devices detected". I get the same result when I try manual detection. When I go to New Configuration / Choose Your Device and select Category: MSP, I see many MSP430 boards and devices, but the MSP-EXP430G2ET is not on the list. The MSP430G2553 chip is also not on the list (there are many MSP430F devices, but no MSP430G devices). I saw this first with Uniflash 5.2.0, but have now upgraded to Uniflash 6.0.0 with the same problem. I have re-synced the device database and that didn't help.
At present I have no way to program the MSP-EXP430G2ET board. (mspdebug also fails; I've started a separate thread about that.)
A small bit of progress: per the MSP430 Development Guide Book v1.1, I installed the MSP FET Drivers from http://software-dl.ti.com/msp430/msp430_public_sw/mcu/msp430/MSP430_FET_Drivers/latest/index_FDS.html . Uniflash now sees the Launchpad, reporting:
Connection: TI MSP430 USB1
Device: Unable to determine exact device [MSP430G2xx3] (click to manually select)
But under "Choose Your Device" it still does not show the MSP-EXP430G2ET Launchpad, or the MSP430G2553 chip. So I can't choose a device, and I can't proceed with Uniflash. Any suggestions?
Hey Brad,
Sorry for the delay, Did you get this working? Do you have all the Jumpers on the launchpad programming header?
Thanks,
JD
Hi JD, thanks for the reply. No, I never got this working. Yes, I have all the jumpers on the Launchpad programming header.
I was able to get mspdebug working, so I've been using that instead. Still, it would be nice to solve the Uniflash problem.
