EVM430-FR6043: HID Bridge Connected - Waiting for device and Error as Pulse Generation Parameters are invalid

Part Number: EVM430-FR6043

Greetings,

I am getting started with the EVM430-FR6043 for Gas Sensing Purpose. To get started, I am trying to read data over the USS Application based on the Out Of the Box Example. But always the HID Bridge status in the USS application Shows "waiting for device" msg. Also there is continous error generation with the following messages "Pulse Generation Parameters are Invalid" and "The Output Frequency of HSPLL is invalid"

I have even tried to Flash the Image file "MSP430FR6043EVM_USS_Gas_Demo_EVM_v2_0_AFE3v3_02_30_00_01.txt"  ; but still the problem remains the same.

Further details;

The PC Device Manager Shows MSP UART Application and MSP Debug Interface in COM Ports; additionally two HID Devices are also shown.

The on-board LED status of the EVM are as follows

1. D1 - Flashing approx at 5 secs

2. D2 - OFF

3. LED102 - ON

4. LED201 - Always ON

5. LED202 - Blinking at 1 Secs.

All the other jumper configurations are default and the Power Select Switch is aligned to EZFET

Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Amit,

It sounds like there may be a problem with the resonator on your board.  I'll contact you to discuss further.

  • Hi Leo,

I was able to resolve my issue by Flashing the firmware using the Example Project and CCS IDE.

However, I am still not able to understand why this was not resolved when the image file was flashed using MSP Flash Tool. I guess, there is some part of the config data that still stays in the internal flash when the MSP Tool is used,, whereas by using CCS IDE and Debug Tool the complete Flash Memory is wiped clean and hence the corrupted config parameters are also lost.

This same issue I have faced using two EVM and both of them were resolved by flashing the firmware via CCS.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks and Regards,
