Hi Team,
A customer has a MSP-EXP430FR2433 launchpad. When he started to work with it with the OOB GUI he got the message that the interface software should be updated. So he updated the EVM and after a while he got the message update failed press recover. He tried to recover maybe 10 times without success. Here is the screenshot of the error. How can he get his launchpad back to work?
Regards,
Danilo
Hello Danilo,
Sounds like the eZ-FET on his launchpad failed an update for some reason. I've never updated a launchpad through CCS Cloud, but it should definitely work. Does he have CCS installed locally on his PC and can he try that?
He can also try using Uniflash to program the launch pad, and it should also be able to update the MSP-FET. Have him try this and report back.
Thanks,
JD
Hello Danilo,
Sorry for the delay. This is not a very common issue, as usually CCS can update and recover the launchpad just fine. I found some older posts saying that they were able to recover bricked ezFETs on launchpad using MSP430-Flasher.
Have the customer try that. If that doesn't fix it, then the next best option might be to replace the launchpad with a new unit.
Thanks
JD
