1.The target range was 5.8mm, so far 4.8mm has been achieved

2.Use the 3LC scheme.L=470uH,C=220pF.Vcc=3V

Some things you can try with. It should be helpful.

1. Try to use a larger L. Like 1mH or 1.5mH.

2. Place the L on the edge of the metal disk.

It doesn't necessary to change the capacitance, 220pF should work. High frequency is better.

You can change the TSM settings to get a longer oscillation time. However, I don't think it will help to get a longer distance.

When the temperature changes, the L is going to change. That means the TSM settings will not detecting at the right time. You may need recalibration the TSM and DAC value. Or you can choose a L which less sensitive to temperature.
