Hi,

I am working on the heart rate monitor system and I need to use the MSP430FG4618 using IAR Embedded Workbench5.0.

Now , I understand something about the MSP430FG439-Heart Rate Monitor demo but the complete code sounds difficult to understand.

Thus, I would like to have a detail explanation, line by line, of the heart rate.c source file that was written by Murugavel Raju.

Can you tell me where to find details of the project you are talking about? I have been looking for a way to monitor heart beats and such when I go skydiving.

Actually the line by line explanation of the code is given in the code itself in the comments beside each line of code.

I would also recommend looking at the corresponding registers/bits and their functions in the 4xx user's guide to get a better understanding:

i converted this to MSP430F2618 and it is not detecting peaks correctly, is it possible to for someone to provide a file with valid ECG data that i could run against the code to see if is my ADC readings? if someone could explain the emperical numbers filterhp(Dataout)-128; and Dataout_pulse > 48) what is 128/48?

the value of my Dataout_pulse variable is going negitive there is no case in code to reset 'counter' in the event Dataout_pulse goes negitive?

Some Direction Please,

I'm reviewing the application demo for the Heart Rate Monitor Application using the LaunchPad MSP430G2XXX.

I'm looking for the source code file for the Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) using this MCU.

I've found & reviewed the source code in the application note (SLAA280a) for the MSP430FG439.

SLAA468 (EKG-Based Heart-Rate Monitor Implementation on the MSP430G2xx LaunchPad Value Line Development Kit) mentions reference to:

Download the source code in Code Composer Studio, see the folder: Software/Heart Rate Monitor/CCS.
1. Import the Project: Project → Import Existing CCS/CCE Eclipse Project and select the Code Composer
Studio folder as the search directory. Select HRM to import the project and source code.

But I'm struggling to find the source folder: /Software/Heart Rate Monitor/CCS

Apologies for my ignorance - can someone please help me identify the download supporting the MPS430G2xxx.

Hello William,

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have had so far. I am in the process of getting the ZIP file for this Application Report uploaded to the web but ran into unexpected delays. This file will contain all of the the hardware files (such as schematics/pcb/gerbers) as well as the software files (source code for Heart-Rate Monitor and Wireless UART Demo with eZ430-RF2500) for the MSP430G2452 target MCU.

There is also a plan to launch this Heart-Rate Monitor BoosterPack for the LaunchPad on the TI eStore in the coming months.

Thanks a lot for providing us the code to play with, however, since the eZ430-RF2500 has MSP430F2274, I was wondering how much of it is changed. Was the wireless UART used for the heart rate montor, or used in general? I'm reading line by line, and I'm just conufsed, because I'm still new to all this.

I already got the amplifier done, and now I'm trying to connect it to the pins on the board, and programming is my only problem as of right now.

The wireless UART code is not specific to the Heart-Rate Monitor and can be used in general for other applications too.

I found a source code for msp430g2452 for Heart Rate Monitoring(HRM) . What I want to ask you is that can we use this source code for MSP430 eZ430 RF2500 device. If not how can we modify this code so that we can use it.
