Position of the temperature sensor of MSP430F6723

Die of the chip is small enough to assume that on-chip temperature sensor measures temperature of whole die which indeed is in center of package.

According to the F5xx/6xx User's Guide, the temperature sensor in the ADC10_A (chapter 27 of the UG) is located in the REF module, inside the package of the device.  Please see section 27.2.9 for additional information on how to use the integrated temp sensor.
