Hi everyone,

I am runing the examples of MSP430USBDevelopersPackage I am working on Windows 7, 64 bits, but when I connect the msp430 to the computer by USB wire the Devices Manager give me Devices Unknow.

I am checking on the document Examples Guide: MSP430 USB API Stack that is necesary to do any thing with the software GCC befor. I don't this step. This can be tha cause of the problem?.

Please, what is this step?

Which MSP430? If you have the F5529 LaunchPad, it should come with the "Out-of-Box Experience" demo, as described in the User's Guide.

That is essentially just a socket.

Without some FET hardware, the only way to get a program into the chip is through the BSL, e.g., with the BSL Scripter.

I have any experience with msp430, I am not new user. I have the MSP-FETUIF too. I am running the examples of the MSP430USBDevelopersPackage without problem on the target board MSP-TS430RGC64USB, my problem is: when I connect the target board MSP-TS430RGC64USB to the computer by USB wire the Device Manager told me that the Divece is Unknown.

My doubt is: what I must to do for the Windows 7 can detect a msp430 connected by USB wire. I think that the problem is with drivers.

That depends on what the firmware on the chip implements.

If you have not yet put any firmware into the device, the default BSL is run. It does not have an installed driver in Windows because the driver would be used only temporarily.

What exactly is shown for the device in Device Manager? What are its hardware IDs?

Hi Clemens Ladish,

I did remove the crystal XT2 a time befor. By this reason my target board haven't the crystal XT2. I put the crystal again on the target board and this is perfect !!!! The example is running perfect!!!
