Hi,

I am buying this kit, MSP-CAPT-FR2633 for my development purpose on a captivate application. However, since my memory requirement is small, I eventually will use MSP430FR2532.

I wanted to know if these 2 devices, FR2633 and FR2532 are pin compatible. If yes, can I replace the FR2633 from the MSP-CAPT-FR2633 kit with MSP430FR2532 ?

    Hi Atul,

    No, they are not pin compatible. The MSP430FR2633 comes in 32-pin TSSOP (DA) or VQFN (RHB) packages whereas the MSP430FR2532 only has a 24-pin VQFN (RGE) package. You will not be able to swap ICs on the MSP-CAPT-FR2633 and must design a custom PCB solution instead. The CapTIvate solution is identical between devices so measurements/results captured with the FR2633 evaluation will hold true after being replaced with the FR2532.
