EVM430-FR6047: HID Bridge connected – waiting for device

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

I have a (pre-programmed) EVM430-FR6047.

Connect to Design Center and get "HID Bridge Connected - waiting for device".

I'd like to check the hardware and connections are OK before loading locally compiled code.

I2C jumpers (J5) fitted.

Power switch in mid position (ezFET).

LED1 - solid green

LED2 - off

LED3 - off

D100 - off

D101 - solid green

D201 - solid green

D202 - flash green (1 p/s)

D203 - off

Is there anything else to check?

Is there a way of getting the software version of the code supplied on the board?

  • Hello Simon,

From the image you show, it looks like the board is still programmed with the manufacturing test code and not the intended application firmware.  Your jumper and switch settings all look correct.  I recommend that you program the board with the locally compiled code.  Let me know if you have any issue with this.  Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!

  • DISCO !!
    Thank you.
When flashing I had to perform a firmware update, and after that it loaded fine and I've tested with a frequency sweep.

"MSP430: Error initializing emulator: A firmware update is required for the MSP430 Debug Interface (MSP-FET430UIF / MSP-FET / eZ-FET). Click the "Update" button to update the firmware and launch your debug session (this may require several update steps). DO NOT UNPLUG THE INTERFACE DURING THE UPDATE.
MSP430: Flash/FRAM usage is 58642 bytes. RAM usage is 6458 bytes."
