TIRSLK-EVM: Input voltage range

Part Number: TIRSLK-EVM

Hello,

May I know the input voltage range of the EVM's chassis board? It does say that it uses TPS568230, which has an input voltage range of 4.5V to 18V. However, per the user guide, the output is set to 5V, and this is a step-down converter.

Can you please help? User is requesting for the information.

Thank you

  • Hello Elisha,

Thanks for your interest in TI RSLK MAX. The robot kit runs on batteries that is used to power the DC-DC switching regulator to generate an output voltage of 5V which is needed to run some sensors and the board. The load current will be based on speed of motor and any other sensors.

The limitation to input range is due to motors and the driver which is used on TI chassis RSLK board, you can review the datasheet of the DRV8838 http://www.ti.com/product/DRV8838. This cannot exceed 11V based on the datasheet.

For more information please review the schematics of the TI chassis board available on www.pololu.com.

    Hope this helps.
