Dear team,

A customer has the following request.

One of their old products reported a NACK issue in the field; it turns out to be a FW bug caused the I2C to reset.

They solved the problem but they would like to know how long it takes from generating an I2C SW reset to when the I2C is able to perform normal communication. They did not find any timing specification for the SW reset in documentation, can you please help to check and provide the timing data?

Hi Giuseppe, Eddie,

I think a SW RESET is performed you should follow the recommendations of the user guide to completely reconfigure the eUSCI module. And then the I2C is immediately ready to use like during normal start-up. At least this would be the most controlled way to come back to operation.
