What is going on at TI? Documentation and tutorials in a mess - wiki not updated

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-AUDIO, ADS7042, TIDM-TM4C129POEAUDIO

Hi,

I am trying to find info on working with TivaWare for the 1294 - and yes there are examples - but it seems like most online tutorials and videos are no longer available.

Example: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Creating_IoT_Solutions_with_the_TM4C1294XL_Connected_LaunchPad_Workshop?DCMP=tivac-launchpad&HQS=ConnectedLaunchPadWorkshop

Example 2: processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php

None of the video URLs are working - I doubt any of the Wiki links are up to date at all.

I did hear a lot was supposed to be moved to TI's new Training website - but that is like looking in an empty book ... Nothing there really. And the RTOS training is now outsourced to Erik? and to get those it is now a $95,- (Very reasonable but?)

So what is happening - is TI giving up and have gotten rid of too many people so nothing gets done or updated?

And I do know there is a lot of info in the "Docs" - but again - messy even when accessed via CSS 6.2/7.0 beta. And I did like the option of having video training sessions.

  • Hello Kasper,

Some of the training material on the TM4C12x devices are in the process of update. As for broken link, I checked and it seems that the Flash Player update is required.
  • Hi Amit,

thanks for the quick reply. I guess you mean your Flash Server player? I am on the latest flash player and can't access the videos in both URLs above. (Video links in the bottom of each Wiki page)

anyway - the booster board compatibility website is also a bit out of date - I cant find the new Audio board on it. (BOOSTXL-AUDIO) or the new ADS7042 Ultra-Low Power Data Acquisition BoosterPack in there. And they are TI products :)

So from where I'm sitting it seems like the TI world is a little low on resources ....
  • Hello Kasper,

I have notified the Web Documentation team about the same. I will update you on the forum post, once I have a confirmation from them.

As for the TM4C and the new audio boards, we have not done any specific action to integrate them. We instead rely on the TI Design TIDM-TM4C129POEAUDIO to perform the same task for which we have the associated firmware. Since we have not seen an upswing on Audio (I2S interface being absent and one of the major interfaces for audio transfer), there is no resource allocation being done yet. The use of a native ADC would circumvent the booster packs.
