Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV11873, DRV10964, MCT8316A
Hi Team, we would like to confirm if this device can be used for a bi-directional motor.
Thank you.

Hello Mark,
Thanks for posting to the MD forum! The DRV10866 does not have a direction pin, so it will only turn in one direction (commutate from U -> V -> W).
I am not aware what the customers requirements/specifications are so here a couple of options to look at:
DRV11873, also a sensorless trapezoidal device, also offers direction change via the FR pin.
DRV10964, this is a sensorless device as well, but only offers sinusoidal control instead of trapezoidal. Direction can be changed via the FR pin.
MCT8316A, this is a brand new device that offer sensorless trapezoidal control. This device has a higher voltage and significantly higher output current and is probably far more intricate than what the customer may need for their application.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Isaac
