DRV8320:DRV8320 reversing the motor using phases!!

Part Number: DRV8320

I have Drv8320 driver but when I swap phases the motor does not move in reverse direction. As I changed the phases, I applied the same process on the HALL side, but I still get the same result. When I change my software the motor spins in the opposite direction. but I want to rotate the motor in reverse without changing my software. Can you help with the solution??

Which PWM control mode are you using, is it the 1x PWM mode?

Change the phase wires but leave the Hall signals intact then motor will run reverse.

Yes, I am using asynchronous 1x PWM mode.

what is the status of the direction pin INHC? Have you exercised this pin in trying to change direction?

We can change the direction using this pin, but what I want is to change the direction just by changing the phases. is there a way to do this ??

I was wrong previously saying you could change the phase wiring to reverse motor direction, but after more thinking, I don't think it work. It is a 3-phase motor with 3 wires, so what wires to change? The phase voltage must be reversed to change motor spinning direction, i.e. at step1, with (phase A - phase B) > 0v for turning CW, then you need (phase A - phase B) < 0v for turning CCW. But by randomly changing the phase A,B,C wirings will not achieve this.

Of course you can change the commutation LUT to reverse the spinning.
