DRV8231: Adjustable output voltage

Hi team,

Do we have such kind of BDC driver whose output voltage can be adjusted? For example, the power supply is 24V. When motor spins forward, the output voltage is ±18V. When motor spins backward, the output voltage is ±12V.

Is it possible to provide more information on the end equipment or application?

We do have the DRV8830 that is capable of voltage regulation and speed regulation but it has a max operating voltage of 7V. We have another device with similar voltage regulation with a maximum operating voltage of 12V in development.

Is 24V the required voltage for the motor?

24V is required. And the end equipment is cooker hood.

Hi Naizeng,

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a device in out portfolio capable of voltage regulation at 24V. We'll consider adding this feature in future product developments.

I'm curious to to the need to change current when changing direction. Is to to adjust the speed of the motor?
