DRV8245H-Q1EVM: Cannot sleep

Hi Team,

1) According to the documentation, neither PWM mode nor stand-alone mode is supported. However, it is on at LVL1 of demo board mode1 and the LVL2LVL3 has no effect with the jumper attached. The customer would like to make sure if the drive only support LVL1.

2) Unable to enter sleep mode. Is it possible to go to sleep mode by pulling Nsleep low in standby mode as described in the document? Or could you help tell what is the instruction to enter sleep mode correctly?

3) Cannot enter the Hi-Z state. In both cases of Hi-Z, using the same high and low control, the result is always low.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Hello Cherry,

1) Here is the reason from the datasheet on why it might not be changing

2) What is the waveform that is being shown? Was nSleep pulled low for a duration greater than t_sleep?

3) What state does it go to when you attempt this? Can you send me some waveforms. I will look into this.

The DRV8245H-Q1EVM operates in PH/EN mode for diagnostic functions. But in these two cases, it doesn't correspond, would you help tell why's this?

Hello Cherry,

Can you check what setting the jumper for the diag pin is set to and what output you have selected? I will try to recreate this issue with the EVM in the lab.

MODE LVL1

SR LVL1

DIAG LVL2

ITRIP LVL2

IPROPI 1K

The first two rows of the truth table output are different from the actual EVM board output, in fact normal is high in column 1 and low in column 2. The output is set based on the input pin.

Hello Cherry,

Give me 24 hours to look into the firmware and the hardware to see if I can recreate this issue. Meanwhile can you check if your in1 and in2 jumper are populated? If it is still not working, can you probe those signals along with nFault.
