DRV110EVM: DRV110 Frequency PWM

Part Number: DRV110EVM

Hi,

I am using DRV110EVM board to drive a 24V/10W solenoid. One of the required parameter is Rosc which is used to set the frequency PWM.

Can someone please explain what parameters are used to define the frequency?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

Can someone please explain what parameters are used to define the frequency?

The fPWM frequency is used to scale the internal PWM clock signal. This frequency value is triggered at the output on each ON cycle.

The default frequency can be used by connecting OSC directly to GND.

  • Hi David,

Thank you for the reply. I have seen this information on the datasheet.

What advantage the default frequency gives?

Is there any condition should the frequency be defined other than the default frequency?

If so, what parameters are used to define it? What does this frequency depend on?

    Regards.

  • Hi,

The frequency is used for current regulation. It is set to a default frequency but may need to be adjusted depending on the load. The frequency may need to be adjusted if the load requires a smaller or larger drive current.
