DRV8244H-Q1EVM: Unable to drive 12V DC Motor with GUI

Part Number: DRV8244H-Q1EVM

Hi,

I won't lie, I'm still relatively new to TI MSP430 mcu's and very new to this motor driver module. I have a DRV8244H-Q1EVM board which I am using to drive an external motor, however with the GUI I am unable to drive the motor. I have been trying to read the documentation and have attempted to set up my board as follows with the jumpers:

  • MODE: Level 1 (PH/EN)
  • SLEW RATE: Level 1 (Grounded)
  • DIAG: Level 1 (Grounded/disabled)
  • IPROPI: Grounded (From documentation: "Pin can be shorted to GND if ITRIP and IPROPI function is not needed.")
  • ITRIP: Level 1 (Grounded)

Waking the module and starting the drive with the above settings shows "Moving Average" and "Cycle Peak" to be around 10 amps. Enabling IPROPI to 1k pushes the average and peak values to < 1amp. I'm not entirely sure why the motor driver is not running. I feel at this point I am running around in circles trying to find out why.
