DRV8711: does SMPLTH value impact real EMF value of moter when stall occurs?

Part Number: DRV8711

hi

  1.      a my account wants to know if different SMPLTH value impacts real Back EMF value of motor when the bit values in STALL register, including SDTHR,SDCNT and VDIV, are same?

2, Is there any detailed material to address how the DRV8711 to implement stall detection, including Timing Diagram is preferred?

  • Hi Ken,

SMPLTH does not impact the real BEMF value o the motor. It just increases the sampling time which will be helpful to mitigate noise. The information for utilizing internal or external stall detection is provided in the datasheet pages 23-25. No other material is available. I believe there are quite a few posts in the E2E forum on this topic. Thanks.
