No, you should be able to trigger a waveform after calibration. I have a few questions to debug your issue. 

Are you using the EVM?

Are you keeping the EN pin high?

Are you setting the STANDBY bit to low?

Is autocalibration passing?

Hello Sydney, yes I am using EVM.

I have not set the EN pin high, based on instruction from data sheet (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slou348b/slou348b.pdf?ts=1708891494791&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Ftool%252FDRV2605EVM-CT) section 4.6 it did not seem like I needed to do that.

Autocalibration is passing and the standby bit is set low.

Hello,

I see. You are using external I2C to control the device where you are able to successfully run auto calibration. After auto calibration finishes, is the “Active” LED still on? If not, the MSP430 is pulling down the enable pin. To fix this, you can pull up enable using the ENIN test point. 

In general, section '8.3.2.1 Play a Waveform or Waveform Sequence from the ROM Waveform Memory' in the datasheet has a great step by step procedure on what is necessary to play a waveform.

Hello Sydney, the active LED is ON after the auto calibration steps. Took a look at the section you mentioned and I believe I am following those steps. In general I am able to trigger waveform sequences using the internal library. Just not after auto calibration.

I see. Is it possible to collect a register dump before and after the auto calibration? In parallel, I will do similar experimenting on my end to gather a working script to compare to yours.
