Part Number: MCF8316A

Tool/software:

Hi team,

The customer reads the voltage current and error messages every second. But their find sometimes will happen drive stop driving the motor and don't display error. Do you have any suggestions about this? The speed of the motor is adjusted frequently, about every 200ms, if this will affect the diver stop? Thanks.
The customer's PWM frequency is 25KHz, 1A peak current, 300mA operating, the input voltage is 24 V.

The motor driver configured as below:

  • Hi Enhui,

The customer is likely running into a device errata. Please see #8 in this E2E FAQ. When the motor is spinning, if I2C commands are sent, the device may lock up and require power-cycle to reset. The workaround is to utilize analog/PWM speed control for continuous speed adjustments.

This issue has been fixed on the MCF8316C.

    Regards,
    Eric C.
