Hi Expert,
I am using DRV8843 to drive brushed DC motor, but I am a newer to motor driver, I want to use fast decay mode, and need to control turn on/turn off and motor speed, can you help me solve below questions?
1.How to control the turn on and turn off od my brushed DC motor with DRV8843?
2.How to control brushed DC motor speed with DRV8843?
2.I want to configure as fast decay mode, but I find two ways, one is AIN1/BIN1 and AIN2/BIN2 pin, the other is DECAY pin, are these two pin settings conflict with each other? I mean which pin should I use to configure fast decay mode, use DECAY or IN1+IN2? And how to deal with the other?
Thank you!
Rachel
Hi Rachel,
I am using DRV8843 to drive brushed DC motor, but I am a newer to motor driver, I want to use fast decay mode, and need to control turn on/turn off and motor speed, can you help me solve below questions?

Set one input low and PWM the other input. Please see Table 2 of the datasheet. For fast decay, you should switch between Forward PWM/ fast decay or Reverse PWM/fast decay.
2.How to control brushed DC motor speed with DRV8843?
The duty cycle is used to set the motor speed. The higher the duty cycle, the faster the speed.
The DECAY may conflict with each other during motor startup and stall.
If the DECAY pin is set to a current level that is higher than the startup or stall current, there should be no conflict.
