Hi,

I am referring your Application Note "

Small-Footprint Sunroof Motor Module Reference Design, TIDA-01389",

This design may work in a project we are looking at doing. I have some questions.

What is the part number (PN) and manufacturer of the barrel magnet used?

Referencing page 8 of the document. What is the PN and manufacturer of the dual package SPDT relay used?

Are there additional pictures of the barrel magnet and how it is mounted and close the hall sensors are to it?

I am not sure in both cases. For the SPDT solution, we are just showing an example of such a solution. We purchased it, but did not design it. We only designed the solid state board.

For barrel magnet, you can find a suitable part that has the magnetic properties necessary to trip the DRV5013-Q1 hall sensor. We have various hall sensors with different sensitivities. A magnet can surely be found to fit within one of our hall sensors sensitivity ranges at any distance.

Hi Ryan,

We are using the similar motor that is shown in the Application note and I am just curious to know how is your barrel magnets arrangement? is it a custom arrangement or did you use any off the shelf parts? Please share the details if you are OK with it.

I am sorry, but this is a relatively old design and I don't have the details, but I would assume that we used off the shelf parts. Nothing custom.

Hi Ryan,

Please take a closer look at the Figure 10 of this Appilication note (Small-Footprint Sunroof Motor Module Reference Design (Rev. A) (ti.com),

The black color overlay that is housing Barrel Magnets(P1 & P2) seems like a custom part, please let me know the details of it if you think it is off-the-shelf part.

Ah, yes. I missed this detail. We purchased this assembly. Again, we only modified the electronics to go from a relay based solution to a solid state solution.

For confidentiality reasons and request from supplier, we purposely have hidden this information as you can see with the "white boxes" in the user guide. I suggest looking on the internet, eBay for example, for sunroof module assemblies and see what is available.
