Hello,

This is related to a previous question where it was suggested to use a zener in series with the LMV431 to increase the clamp voltage beyond the specifications of the LMV431 to 42V to allow for a 42V output during CV.

However I am unsure as to how to integrate this zener with the LMV431 into the CV circuit shown in SNVA829 for CC/CV.

Specifically I am not sure how to configure the reference voltage of the LMV431 with the zener in series with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Keshav,

There is R11 0ohm on SNVA829, you can replace R11 with Zener diode, and add another resistor like 4.7K from Zener and U2 join node to GND, so the U2 will see voltage equals to Vout--Vzener. R16 should connect to Vout directly.

Ran a pspice simulation to test it and it worked.
