TLV717P: Questions about solder paste example of X2SON(DQN) package

Hello guys,

One of my customers is about to assemble their own board using TLV717P.

They have a few questions about SOLDER PASTE EXAMPLE on page 26 in TLV717P datasheet (Rev:SBVS176B).

Could you please give me your reply for the following questions?

Q1. What does the red line mean? Is it solder paste area?

Q2. I know that dotted green line means solder mask edge under solder paste. Do you have any recommended the solder overlap length with the solder mask?

Q3. Do you have any recommended gap length between center solder paste and solder mask edge?

Hello Kazuya,

The line in Red is the border of the stencil and yes, it is the solder paste area. Regarding the dimensions of the overlap and the separation of the solder mask and the central solder paste, we don't have that information in our group at this point. I have contacted the packaging group about this and I will get back to you as soon as I hear back from them. Apologies for the delay.

Hello Kazuya,

You could assume the dimensions of the Solder Mask from Page 25 (in green). Regarding the Edge pads, the solder mask length is 0.36mm (Page 25) and this would be the length of the overlap between the mask and the paste (along this dimension). Regarding the center pad, the length of the mask is 0.48mm (again from page 25) and the length of the paste is 0.45mm. This would result in a gap of 0.015mm between the two. Hope this was what you were looking for.
