[FAQ] BQ25120A: How do I enter and exit ship-mode?

The charger can enter shipmode by:

• To enter shipmode on the BQ25120A, the device should be operating on battery-only mode (V_IN < V_UVLO), and /CD and /MR must be high. Then you can:
  • Send the I2C command EN_SHIPMODE = 1 on the Status and Ship Mode Control Register (0x0).
  • Perform a button press of the MR button, if the MRREC = 1 on the Push-button Control Register (0x08).

The charger can exit shipmode by:

• Connecting an adapter to IN (V_IN > V_BAT + V_SLP)
• By pressing the /MR button when VIN is not present. In this case V_BAT > V_BATUVLO in order for the device to exit ship-mode.
