TPS7A4101: 6pin and 7pin be shorted to the VIN

Hi team,

Can the TPS7A4101 6pin and 7pin be shorted to the VIN?

The reason for asking this question is that my customer used the TPS79801 in old projects and shorted 6pin and 7pin to the VIN(as Figure1), and now they want to P2P replace the TPS79801 with the TPS7A4101 and do not change the original design (due to supply issues). So I want to ask if the TPS7A4101 can be connected like this?

If the TPS7A4101's 6pin and 7pin are shorted to the VIN, there exist any risk?

Could you please help give some comments? Thank you!

Hi Ivy,

I confirmed that pins 6 and 7 are NC pins and so the are not connected to the die. While we generally recommend connecting NC pins to GND to improve thermal dissipation, they can be connected to Vin for this device with no concerns.
