LM3401: Help customers find drivers suitable for multiple LEDs in series.

I am helping a customer to find a driver suitable for multiple LEDs in series. Usually 5 LEDs. The voltage of each LED is 2.5V-2.8V. Could you please help recommend suitable devices? Currently LM3401 is receiving attention from customers, is it the right one?

Hi Hailiang,

Could you provide the spec requirement or application background? LM3401 is a controller that means external PFET is needed, and BOM cost may be higher.

Hi Robin,

The device is used to drive the flash LED of the barcode scanner. The application background is bellow:

Power supply: 24V; I_LED=1A; V_LED=2.5~2.8V; 5 LEDs are connected in series;

One of our competitors is Diodes's AL8807.

Hi Hailiang,

How about LM3405? Many other proper devices are out of stock, but I find this device is available on ti.com.

Hi Robin,

The input voltage range of LM3405 is 3V to 15V, but the power supply is 24V. So it may not the suitable one.

Hi Hailiang,

My mistake...it's LM3405A, but he maximum input voltage is 24V.

If this device still can not meet your requirements, please consider LM3404 or LM3414.
