BQ24075: BQ24075T as a substitute

Part Number: BQ24075

Hi Experts,

May I ask for help? By refering to the E2E post below:

(1) BQ24075T: difference between BQ24075 & BQ24075T - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums

Does it mean customer can use BQ24075TRGTT as a substitute for BQ24075RGTR? Considering that in the initial design with BQ24075RGTR they don't use TS at all (TS pin is connected to GND with 10K resistor).
I hope to received your confirmation. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Gerald

  • Hi Gerald,

Yes, you can use the BQ24075T as a suitable replacement for the BQ24075. As mentioned in the forum post you're referencing, the BQ24075T uses a voltage divider based on VIN for battery temperature monitoring. The case for the BQ24075T and not using the TS monitoring function is a little different. In this scenario and referencing Figure 23 in the BQ24075T datasheet, R6 should be 200kOhm and R7 = 49.9kOhm.

For reference, these numbers are pulled from Section 10.2.1.2.4 TS Function which discusses R7 and R6 choices in an example application scenario.

Let me know if there are any clarifications needed!

    Best Regards,

    Anthony Pham
