TPS56121: Cannot simulate

Hi,

Customer cannot simulate the circuit using the TINA library, please see details below.

"I have technical question about TPS56121 - Design and simulation of TINA:
I Designed on WebBench with TPS56121 and export the design to TINA. But I couldn't simulate with the export design on TINA. Is there any way to simulate the TINA with the TPS56121 ?

Hello,

I can simulate the file you provided with no errors. Are you getting any errors?

The following change was made

Go to Analysis > Options

Increase Integration Order from 1

I used 5 and I did not have convergence issue

I modified the file. I removed the ac source in feedback path, added initial condition to caps and inductor. and added a soft start capacitor.

Let the simulation run to 3 to 4 ms .

When i look at the schematic, a large inductor and capacitor are injected with the AC source. when i removed the parts, the simulation is not working.

It seem necessary to do this, doesn't it ?

Try and run this file TPS56121 (3).TSC without modifications, it works for me.

The (3) file is the file from original post with the modifications discussed in my 1/11 post.

Does it simulate and yield a result

If not, Let us troubleshoot your simulation setup.

Do not change anything in the mode and Follow instructions in the blue box.

Does it simulation and can you see a result.

Do not change anything in the model. Follow instructions in the blue box.

Does it simulation and give result.

For the frequency response and stability results use the Average Model.

For the start up and load transient, the start up reference design model and the steady state reference design https://www.ti.com/lit/tsc/slum144

If the models simulation successfully, change the value of components to your values and repeat the simulations.
