TL750M-Q1: Questions on TL750M-Q1 Iq and max Tj

Part Number: TL750M-Q1

Hi team,

I would like to check for below items with TL750M-Q1

1. What is the difference between current consumption and quiescent current? One is 60mA and one is 6mA , as this influence a lot the power dissipation

2.  What is the maximum junction temperature? In recommendation operating conditions the max junction temperature is 125C. In customer evaluation should they consider any derating to keep max junction temperature even lower?

The max junction temperature is 150C. What will happened to the IC when Tj between 125C ~ 150C

Thanks,

Ethan

  • Hello Ethan,

For this device the current consumption is equivalent to the quiescent current. As shown in Figure 9, the quiescent current increases with load current. At a load current of 750mA, IQ is 60mA and at a load current of 10mA, IQ is 5mA (max value) but is typically around 2.5mA.

The recommended maximum junction temperature is 125ºC, and up to this value the relevant Electrical specs will hold. The IC could suffer long term reliability issues if operated at TJ larger than 150ºC. When TJ is between 125ºC and 150ºC, the device will not suffer reliability issues but we cannot be certain of the values of the Electrical Specs. Thanks!
